I found many bugs (errors) or missing I would like to correct these mess. In software engineering theory more errors you find in a software is likely to have more errors associated with it.

To logon via web you need to point the browser to http://sltnet.lk/ and if you point to http://slt.lk it won’t forgive you. Compared with the competitors like gmail you can either logon with gmail.com or with googlemail.com in either case you will get the mail (with the notable exception of certain European countries where gmail is registered by some one else other than google.) not only that gmail will allow you send email like someone@gmail.com is the same as someone@googlemail.com but it not so same as someone@sltnet.lk is different from someone@slt.lk also both by the Sri Lankan Telecom.

SLT Webmail doesn’t allow us to add the address to the CC (Carbon Copy) field from the address book dispite of how many times you try it only allows you to enter the name in the to field. For a curiosity sake I tried to send to my private email address with only BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field it didn’t work at all. Worst part of the story is that it didn’t even informed that mail is not delivered (or not send at all?). This is the first time I have seen a mail client is behaving like this.

There is a search field in the webmail but it not so easy as Yahoo! or with gmail. It asks so many questions and it couldn’t find the search string it is a UNICODE. Plus Yahoo! seems to organize the results in more meaningful way.

I have received a mail saying that it supports IMAP how do I deal with the mail that only supports 10MB maximum storage with IMAP and there is no guidlines to setup IMAP at all. While Yahoo! offers infinite storage gmail offers 6GB+ storage space for free accounts only this paid mail allows such small space which is more or less than the storage offers for as an attachement in Yahoo! mail or gmail. Advantage of the competitors is that there is no need to delete any email from the server that servers as a online backup while Yahoo! and gmail allow the users to get the mail to the clients.

Today almost all email clients use spam folder to filter the spam mal. SLT doesn’t allow any such facility.
